DELAYED HEADING DATE3, Encoding a Heat Shock Transcription Factor, Delays Flowering Time and Improves Yield in Rice (Oryza sativa L.)

چکیده

Heading date is an essential agronomic trait that affects adaptability and yield in rice (Oryza sativa). HSFs (heat shock transcription factors) are a type of factor responds to environmental stress organisms. The relationship between the heading has been seldom reported so far. Here, we identified new heat factor, named DELAYED HEADING DATE3 (DHD3), which can significantly delay by about 14 days provide improvements 77% potential rice. DHD3 protein localized nucleus weak transactivation activity. delays suppressing Hd3a RFT1 expression under long-day (LD) short-day (SD) conditions. Furthermore, low-temperature condition greatly enhances effect on (from 16.1% more than 89.3%). We propose may involve temperature-regulated signaling pathway flowering time improve crop yield.

Trithorax group protein Oryza sativa Trithorax1 controls flowering time in rice via interaction with early heading date3.

Trithorax group proteins are chromatin-remodeling factors that activate target gene expression by antagonistically functioning against the Polycomb group. In Arabidopsis (Arabidopsis thaliana), Arabidopsis Trithorax protein1 (ATX1) regulates flowering time and floral organ identity. Here, we observed that suppression of Oryza sativa Trithorax1 (OsTrx1), an ortholog of ATX1, delayed flowering ti...

Improving Rice (Oryza sativa L.) Drought Tolerance by Suppressing a NF-YA Transcription Factor

The response to drought stress is a complicated process involving stress sensing, intracellular signaltransduction, and the execution of a cellular response. Transcription factors play important roles in the signaling pathways including abiotic stress. In the present study a rice NF-YA transcription factor gene was partially characterized following dehydration. Disrupting the gene via a T...

Isolation and characterization of a cDNA encoding two novel heat-shock factor OsHSF6 and OsHSF12 in Oryza sativa L.

As a crucial transcription factor family, heat-shock factors were mainly analyzed and characterized in tomato and Arabidopsis. In this study, we isolated two putative heatshock factors OsHSF6 and OsHSF12 that interact specifically with heat-shock element (HSE) from Oryza sativa L by yeast one-hybrid method. The full-length cDNA of OsHSF6 and OsHSF12 have 1074bp and 920bp open reading frame (ORF...

Ectopic expression of a cold-inducible transcription factor, CBF1/DREB1b, in transgenic rice (Oryza sativa L.).

The gene encoding C-repeat/dehydration-responsive element binding factor 1 (CBF1/DREB1b) of Arabidopsis was introduced into rice (Oryza sativa L.) under the control of the maize ubiquitin promoter. Its incorporation and expression in transgenic rice plants were confirmed by DNA and RNA gel-blot analyses. Cold tolerance in the transgenics was not significantly different from that of the wild-typ...
